Motrip MTB Helmet

Mountain biking in India means loose gravel on Coorg descents, sun-baked singletrack near Pune, and the kind of humid heat that makes every climb feel twice as long. The Abus Motrip MTB Helmet is built for exactly this kind of riding — combining certified protection with a ventilation system designed to keep your head cooler when temperatures push past 35°C and the trail demands your full focus.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

The Motrip is a no-nonsense MTB helmet that earns its place on Indian trails. The ventilation channels do real work in the punishing heat you encounter climbing out of Lonavala or riding the red-dirt tracks around Hyderabad. The adjustable retention system dials in a confident fit without pressure points during long saddle hours — exactly what you need when a bad fit becomes a genuine distraction on technical terrain.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Abus uses European sizing conventions: measure your head circumference at the forehead just above the eyebrows. Standard bands run S=51–55cm, M=55–59cm, L=59–63cm, though individual head shapes vary. If you are between sizes, go larger and use the retention system to fine-tune. Indian riders with broader head profiles often find a half-size up fits more comfortably without pressure on the temples.

Compatibility Notes

The Motrip meets international cycling helmet safety standards and is suited to trail and cross-country MTB disciplines. The visor is compatible with most cycling sunglasses, though check temple clearance with wraparound frames. The adjustable retention dial works with most cycling caps and bandanas worn underneath — useful during monsoon rides where a thin skull cap adds warmth without bulk.

Pairs Well With

Complete your trail setup with MTB cycling sunglasses that clear the visor, a lightweight merino or synthetic cycling cap for sweat management, MTB gloves for grip and protection on technical descents, and a quality rear light for visibility on early morning or overcast monsoon rides.
