Mountain PRO Wet Inserts

Rim brake users riding through monsoon downpours, Lonavala switchbacks, or the wet descents of Coorg know that braking performance in wet conditions is non-negotiable. The Jagwire Mountain PRO Wet Inserts are purpose-built replacement brake pad inserts designed to restore and maintain strong, confident stopping power on alloy rims when conditions turn unpredictable.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For Indian mountain riders still running rim brakes, wet-weather performance is the single biggest concern — and that is exactly what these inserts address. The compound is tuned for wet grip on alloy rims, making them a sensible upgrade before the monsoon season arrives. At Rs. 360 with free delivery above Rs. 2,500, they offer genuine value for riders in Pune, Ooty, or anywhere the Western Ghats throw rain at you mid-ride.

Sizing for Indian Riders

These are insert-style pads, meaning they slide into compatible Jagwire Mountain PRO brake pad cartridge holders — confirm your existing holders accept standard inserts before ordering. There is no size variation based on rider weight or height. In India's heat and humidity, wet-compound inserts can also reduce the glazing that often affects rim brakes in high-temperature conditions above 35°C.

Compatibility Notes

These inserts are designed for rim brake systems using compatible cartridge-style holders — typically cantilever and V-brake setups common on mountain bikes. They are formulated for alloy rims only; do not use on carbon rims, as mismatched compounds generate excessive heat and cause rim damage. Check that your pad holder accepts standard insert dimensions before fitting.

Pairs Well With

Get the most from your rim brake system by pairing these inserts with a full set of compatible cartridge brake pad holders, fresh brake cables and housing from the Jagwire cable range, a wheel truing stand for alloy rim maintenance, and a torque wrench for safe caliper bolt tightening.
