Mtx Ex Trunk Bag

The Topeak MTX EX Trunk Bag is a rear-rack mounted bag built for riders who need reliable, organised storage on mountain and hybrid bikes. Whether you're commuting through Pune's traffic, tackling the Coorg hills on a loaded weekend ride, or running errands across Delhi, this bag offers a practical and secure way to carry your essentials without a backpack.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For Indian riders dealing with 35°C+ heat and the need to carry gear without loading up their backs, the MTX EX Trunk Bag makes strong sense. Its polyester and nylon construction handles humidity well, the reflective detailing improves visibility on poorly lit city roads, and the carry handle means you can lift it off the rack and walk straight into your destination. A genuinely practical everyday bag selected for Indian commuting conditions.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a rack-mount bag, not an apparel item, so body sizing doesn't apply — but rack compatibility does. The MTX EX is designed for Topeak's MTX rack system. Measure your rear rack's dimensions and verify MTX compatibility before ordering. For riders on hybrid or mountain bikes with standard rear racks, contact Cobbled Climbs for fitment confirmation.

Compatibility Notes

The MTX EX Trunk Bag is compatible with Topeak's MTX Quick-Track rack system. It suits mountain and hybrid bikes with a standard rear rack. Not designed for road bikes with dropped bars or carbon seatstays without a rack. Clean the mounting interface regularly, especially post-monsoon, to prevent grit build-up on the locking mechanism.

Pairs Well With

Round out your bike's carrying setup with a Topeak or compatible rear rack if not already fitted, a frame or top-tube bag for tools and a spare tube, a handlebar bag for snacks and navigation, and a set of bungee cords or dry bags for overflow on longer rides.
