Nastro Piloti Bartape

Bar tape is the most overlooked contact point on any road bike, yet it directly shapes every hour you spend in the saddle. The Silca Nastro Piloti Bartape brings Italian craftsmanship to your handlebars — combining grip, vibration absorption, and a premium feel that riders in Pune, Delhi, and along the Western Ghats will appreciate on long days and rough tarmac alike. Cobbled Climbs is the exclusive Indian distributor for Campagnolo in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Comfortable reach and bar shape for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and compact drop for competitive fit.

Long endurance rides. Multiple hand positions for fatigue management on full-day rides.

Our Take

India's road surfaces demand more from bar tape than most. Patched tarmac on the Lonavala climbs, chip-seal on Chennai's outer ring roads, and the relentless buzz of Hyderabad's flyovers all travel straight through your handlebars. The Nastro Piloti from Silca offers a noticeably premium wrap — confident grip in sweaty palms at 35°C+, decent vibration damping, and a finish that holds up through monsoon humidity. At Rs. 3,699 it is a considered purchase, but contact-point quality pays back on every ride.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Bar tape sizing is universal — one roll typically covers a standard road drop bar. What matters more is technique: riders with smaller hands common in Indian builds often prefer a slightly thicker wrap for extra cushioning. In hot, humid cities like Mumbai or Kolkata, a slightly tighter wrap helps prevent slippage as sweat builds up during summer rides.

Compatibility Notes

The Nastro Piloti is compatible with standard road drop bars and most gravel handlebars. Works with Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo lever setups. Ensure bar ends are sealed after wrapping. In high-humidity conditions, replace tape if grip degrades — typically every 8–12 months for regular riders.

Pairs Well With

Complete your contact-point upgrade with cycling gloves for extra grip on long climbs, a quality stem for dialled-in positioning, road cycling shoes with efficient power transfer, and a torque wrench to ensure a precise, damage-free installation every time.
