Obermayer EVO Schwarz Edition DISC Wheelset

The Lightweight Obermayer EVO Schwarz Edition DISC Wheelset sits at the very top of what road cycling engineering can offer. Priced at Rs. 7,76,000, this is a statement purchase — a wheel system built for riders who demand the absolute best from every climb, sprint, and long-distance effort, whether on the smooth tarmac of the Delhi–Agra Expressway or the steep gradients of the Western Ghats.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

Lightweight's Obermayer EVO Schwarz Edition DISC is not a casual upgrade — it is a serious performance tool. For riders tackling the Ghats outside Pune or Lonavala, the reduced rotational mass translates into a noticeably more responsive climb. The Schwarz Edition's all-black aesthetic is understated and purposeful. At this price point, you are buying German precision engineering and a wheel that will outlast several bike frames if cared for correctly.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit depends on three key checks: confirm your frame's axle standard (thru-axle dimensions vary), verify disc brake interface (Centerlock or 6-bolt), and match your drivetrain's cassette body standard. Indian riders running Shimano groupsets will want to confirm HG cassette body compatibility. In India's heat at 35°C+, thru-axle disc setups run cooler and more consistently than older standards.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for disc brake use; confirm rotor interface before ordering. Verify thru-axle dimensions against your frame and fork spec. Cassette body compatibility (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo) must be confirmed prior to purchase. Tubeless-ready setup requires compatible tyres, sealant, and valves. Follow Lightweight's published service intervals for bearing maintenance to preserve performance.

Pairs Well With

Complete this setup with high-performance road or gravel tyres matched to the rim width, a quality tubeless sealant and valve kit, disc brake rotors suited to your brake caliper, and a calibrated torque wrench for safe installation. A power meter pedal or crank pairing makes the performance gains measurable.
