Octal MIPS Road Cycling Helmet

The POC Octal MIPS Road Cycling Helmet sits at the top of the road helmet category for a reason: it pairs genuine safety engineering with the kind of ventilation that matters when you are grinding Lonavala or Ooty climbs in 38°C heat. Certified to international standards and equipped with MIPS rotational impact protection, it is a serious helmet for serious riders across India. Cobbled Climbs is the exclusive Indian distributor for Lightweight in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

For riders tackling the Western Ghats, the Aravalli foothills, or long Pune–Mumbai highway stretches, the Octal MIPS earns its price through purposeful ventilation and MIPS protection in a lightweight shell. The adjustable retention system keeps fit dialled through sweaty climbs without mid-ride fidgeting. At Rs. 17,900, this is a premium but well-justified choice for anyone who rides hard and rides often in Indian conditions.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Measure head circumference at the forehead — POC typically runs S=51–54cm, M=55–58cm, L=59–62cm, but verify against POC's current size chart before ordering. European sizing is generally consistent with Indian head shapes, though some riders find a half-size up more comfortable with longer hair or heavier sweat padding. The retention dial accommodates minor variation.

Compatibility Notes

Certified to international safety standards including CE EN 1078. The MIPS liner is integrated and requires no separate fitment. Compatible with most road cycling sunglasses — check temple clearance if using oversized frames. Retention system works with standard cycling caps worn underneath. Replace after any impact, even without visible external damage.

Pairs Well With

Complete your kit with a matching set of road cycling sunglasses for glare and dust protection, a lightweight road jersey with UPF rating for India's sun, a compact rear light for visibility on busy Indian roads, and a quality cycling cap for sweat management under the helmet.
