OE Flat Handlebar

The Controltech OE Flat Handlebar is a precision-engineered aluminium cockpit component designed for hybrid and road cyclists who want reliable control without unnecessary complexity. Whether you're navigating Pune's potholed city streets, spinning through Hyderabad's early morning traffic, or grinding up the Lonavala ghats, a well-fitted flat bar makes every input more direct and confident.

Use Cases

Daily training. Comfortable reach and bar shape for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and compact drop for competitive fit.

Long endurance rides. Multiple hand positions for fatigue management on full-day rides.

Our Take

Flat bars suit riders who prefer an upright, alert position — ideal for Indian urban cycling and hilly terrain where quick steering response matters more than aerodynamics. The aluminium construction handles the heat and humidity that plague riders in Chennai and Delhi without the corrosion concerns of steel alternatives. At Rs. 2,349, this is an accessible, practical cockpit upgrade that prioritises everyday function and durability over race-day marginal gains.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Flat handlebar width should roughly match your shoulder width — most Indian male riders fit comfortably between 640mm and 680mm; women and smaller-framed riders often prefer 580mm–640mm. In India's heat, a slightly wider bar opens the chest for better breathing on long climbs like Ooty or Coorg ascents. Avoid sizing up excessively — it reduces steering precision on tight city roads.

Compatibility Notes

This bar uses a standard aluminium construction compatible with 31.8mm stem clamps, which covers the vast majority of hybrid and road stems available in India. Flat bars pair with flat-bar-specific brake levers and shifters — verify your controls before ordering. Clean bar ends regularly to prevent sweat corrosion in humid coastal cities like Mumbai and Kolkata. Replace after any significant crash impact, even without visible damage.

Pairs Well With

Complete your cockpit with a compatible flat-bar stem to dial in reach, ergonomic handlebar grips for long-ride comfort, flat-bar brake levers and shifters matched to your drivetrain, and cycling gloves to reduce vibration on rough Indian road surfaces.
