Oil Change Kit for Speedhub

The Rohloff Speedhub is one of cycling's most celebrated internal gear hubs, prized for its precision and longevity — but only when maintained properly. The Rohloff Oil Change Kit is the official maintenance solution, designed specifically to keep the Speedhub's internal gearing system running cleanly and efficiently through India's demanding riding seasons.

Use Cases

Wet conditions. Wet lube for monsoon and humid Mumbai, Goa, and Bengaluru riding.

Dry conditions. Dry lube for clean drivetrain in Delhi, Hyderabad summer conditions.

Race day. Low-friction wax-based lubes for competitive efforts.

Our Take

If you own a Rohloff Speedhub, this oil change kit is non-negotiable maintenance, not optional upkeep. India's heat, monsoon humidity, and dusty roads — whether you're commuting in Chennai or grinding the climbs above Lonavala — push any drivetrain hard. The Speedhub's sealed internals mean external contamination is low, but periodic oil changes are what keep those precision gears shifting crisply year after year. At Rs. 2,100, it's far cheaper than a hub service or replacement.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a maintenance kit, not a sized product — there is no fit consideration. The Rohloff Oil Change Kit is compatible with all Speedhub models regardless of wheel size or axle standard. If you are unsure which Speedhub generation you own, check the hub shell marking or contact Cobbled Climbs for confirmation before ordering. One kit covers a single full oil change service.

Compatibility Notes

This kit is designed exclusively for the Rohloff Speedhub internal gear hub. It is not compatible with conventional derailleurs, other internal gear hubs, or bottom brackets. Rohloff recommends an oil change every 5,000 km or annually, whichever comes first. Store unused oil in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight — particularly important during Indian summers where storage temperatures can exceed 40°C.

Pairs Well With

Complete your Speedhub maintenance routine with a quality chain lubricant suited to Indian conditions, a chain wear indicator tool, a bike work stand for easier servicing access, and microfibre cleaning cloths for post-ride wipe-downs. Browse all options at Cobbled Climbs.
