Oil for Speedhub 500/14 Set

The Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 is one of the most sophisticated internal gear hubs ever made, and keeping it properly lubricated is non-negotiable. This official Oil Set from Rohloff contains precisely the fluids the hub needs for its scheduled oil changes — no substitutes, no guesswork. For Indian riders running a Speedhub across demanding terrain, this set is a core maintenance essential, not an optional extra.

Use Cases

Wet conditions. Wet lube for monsoon and humid Mumbai, Goa, and Bengaluru riding.

Dry conditions. Dry lube for clean drivetrain in Delhi, Hyderabad summer conditions.

Race day. Low-friction wax-based lubes for competitive efforts.

Our Take

Indian riding conditions — dusty Rajasthan highways, monsoon-soaked Pune backroads, the punishing climbs around Coorg and Ooty — put internal hub systems under real stress. The Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 demands genuine Rohloff oil for its periodic changes, and using anything else risks voiding performance claims and accelerating internal wear. At Rs. 1,490, this set is straightforward insurance for a hub that costs significantly more to replace. Buy it, use it on schedule, and your hub will outlast most drivetrains on the road.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a maintenance oil set, not a wearable — sizing does not apply. What does matter is service interval: Rohloff recommends an oil change after the first 1,000 km on a new hub, then every 5,000 km thereafter. In high-heat conditions above 35°C or during extended monsoon riding, sticking strictly to that schedule will keep internals protected and shifting precise.

Compatibility Notes

This oil set is formulated exclusively for the Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 internal gear hub. It is not a general-purpose lubricant and should not be used on chains, derailleurs, or other components. The set includes the specific oil types and quantities required for a complete service. Verify your hub model before ordering — all Rohloff products at Cobbled Climbs are 100% genuine and authorised.

Pairs Well With

Complete your Speedhub service kit with a quality chain lubricant suited to Indian conditions, a chain cleaning tool, a bike workshop stand for easier access during oil changes, and a set of precision hex keys or a torque wrench for hub service work.
