Overdrive Wired

The Maxxis Overdrive Wired is a hybrid-discipline tyre built for riders who want reliable, day-in day-out performance across varied surfaces. Whether you are commuting through Chennai's potholed streets, training on Pune's outskirts, or doing weekend loops near Hyderabad, this wired-bead tyre brings consistent rolling efficiency and dependable grip without the premium price of a folding race tyre.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For Indian city and hybrid riders, the Overdrive Wired makes solid practical sense. Its rigid wired bead keeps costs down while delivering a durable, dependable casing suited to the mixed tarmac, speed-breaker-heavy roads, and occasional gravel stretches common across Indian urban and peri-urban routes. In 35°C+ summer heat or post-monsoon wet patches, it holds its line confidently — a genuinely capable everyday tyre at an accessible price point.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The Overdrive Wired suits road and hybrid bikes with 700c wheels. European sizing conventions apply directly here — check your rim's inner width before selecting tyre width. For Indian roads with frequent surface changes, a slightly wider fitment offers better comfort and control. Verify your frame's tyre clearance, particularly on older hybrid frames where clearance can be tight.

Compatibility Notes

The wired bead means this is a tubed tyre — pair it with a quality butyl inner tube. It is compatible with standard hooked 700c rims. Not tubeless-compatible. Works with road and hybrid drivetrains without any special considerations. Inspect the bead seat carefully during installation to avoid pinch flats common on bumpy Indian roads.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with quality butyl inner tubes, reliable tyre levers, a high-pressure floor pump with a pressure gauge, and a compact CO2 inflator or mini-pump for roadside repairs. A puncture repair kit rounds out your kit for longer rides.
