Plaintouch Bartape

Bar tape is the most overlooked contact point on a road bike, yet it shapes every hour in the saddle. The Prologo Plaintouch Bartape offers a synthetic polyurethane construction that absorbs road buzz from patched city tarmac in Pune or the broken ghat roads on climbs toward Lonavala — giving your hands genuine comfort without adding unnecessary bulk to the cockpit. Cobbled Climbs is the exclusive Indian distributor for Campagnolo in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Comfortable reach and bar shape for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and compact drop for competitive fit.

Long endurance rides. Multiple hand positions for fatigue management on full-day rides.

Our Take

The Plaintouch lives up to its name: a clean, no-nonsense wrap that handles Indian riding realities well. Polyurethane holds up against sweaty palms in 35°C+ heat and stays grippy through Chennai's humid monsoon months better than basic foam alternatives. At Rs. 1,699, it delivers reliable comfort and durability for daily training riders who want a quality contact point without overthinking it.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Bar tape sizing is universal — one roll wraps a standard drop bar. However, Indian riders with larger hands or those logging big kilometres on rough Deccan Plateau roads may prefer wrapping with slight overlap for extra padding. European sizing conventions do not apply here; focus instead on wrap technique and tension for your comfort preference.

Compatibility Notes

The Prologo Plaintouch Bartape is compatible with standard road drop bars and works with Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo lever configurations. The synthetic polyurethane material is easy to wipe clean after dusty rides. Replace annually for daily riders, or sooner if grip deteriorates or the tape compresses visibly.

Pairs Well With

Complete your cockpit setup with a quality set of road cycling gloves for added palm protection, a stem matched to your riding position, handlebar end plugs for a tidy finish, and a torque wrench for safe installation. Each of these categories is available at Cobbled Climbs.
