Prime G23ar MTB DISC Brake Wheelset

The Token Prime G23ar MTB DISC Brake Wheelset is built for mountain bikers who demand reliable stopping power and precise hub engagement on demanding terrain. Whether you're navigating rocky singletrack in Coorg, descending the Western Ghats near Lonavala, or charging through wet trails during monsoon season, this wheelset is engineered to handle varied and punishing conditions without compromise.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

Token has long been respected for precision hub engineering, and the Prime G23ar reflects that pedigree. For Indian MTB riders dealing with everything from Coorg's rooted forest trails to Pune's dusty dirt roads, disc brake reliability and lateral stiffness are non-negotiable. The optimised bearing placement translates into noticeably smooth rolling — exactly what you want when trails are unpredictable and braking distances matter. A well-considered upgrade for riders serious about mountain performance.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit is about compatibility, not body size. Confirm your frame's axle standard — thru-axle 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear is most common on modern MTBs — plus your brake mount type (Centerlock or 6-bolt) and cassette body (Shimano HG or SRAM XD/XDR). Indian humidity and heat can accelerate bearing wear, so ensure you're matching specs precisely before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

These wheels are disc-brake specific — do not attempt rim-brake use. Verify axle dimensions, cassette driver compatibility, and rotor interface (Centerlock or 6-bolt) against your existing drivetrain and frame. Tubeless setup requires tubeless-compatible tyres, sealant, and valves sold separately. Rim tape installation should follow Token's specification for a reliable tubeless seal.

Pairs Well With

Complete your MTB wheel build with quality tubeless MTB tyres suited to Indian trail conditions, a tubeless sealant and valve kit, disc brake rotors matching your chosen interface standard, and a precision torque wrench for correct thru-axle and rotor bolt installation.
