Protone Icon Road Cycling Helmet

At Rs. 23,490, the Kask Protone Icon is a serious investment in protection and performance. Designed for road cycling, it brings Italian engineering to bear on the twin demands every Indian rider knows well: staying cool when the mercury climbs past 35°C and arriving safely after Pune's broken road surfaces or Lonavala's steep descents. This is a helmet built for riders who refuse to compromise.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

The Protone Icon earns its place at the top of Kask's road range through a ventilation system that genuinely pulls air across your head during long summer efforts — the kind of heat you encounter riding out of Chennai or on the Coorg plateau in April. The adjustable retention system holds the helmet firmly through rough road sections without pressure points. For Indian road cyclists who train consistently in 35°C+ conditions, this is one of the most capable helmets you can buy.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Kask sizing runs to European head shapes, which tend to be slightly narrower. Indian riders with rounder heads should measure carefully: wrap a soft tape at the forehead, just above the eyebrows. Kask typically offers S (51–55 cm), M (55–59 cm), and L (59–63 cm). If you fall between sizes, size up. The retention system compensates for minor fit variation, but the shell shape is fixed.

Compatibility Notes

The Protone Icon is certified to international road cycling safety standards. It works well with most cycling sunglasses — check temple-arm clearance with the helmet's vent channels before buying. The retention system is compatible with standard cycling caps worn underneath for sweat management during monsoon-season rides. Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if there is no visible external damage.

Pairs Well With

Complete your road setup with a pair of road cycling sunglasses that clear the Protone's vent profile, a lightweight merino or polyester cycling cap for sweat control, a high-visibility rear light for early-morning Bangalore and Delhi commutes, and road cycling gloves for long-distance comfort on rough Indian surfaces.
