Quasar CR 2.0

The Selle Repente Quasar CR 2.0 is a carbon-railed performance saddle built for riders who refuse to compromise between weight savings and all-day comfort. Whether you're grinding up the Western Ghats, tackling Leh's altitude, or logging back-to-back training days in Pune's heat, saddle choice remains one of the most personal decisions in cycling. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Selle Italia in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

The Quasar CR 2.0 sits at the sharper end of Selle Repente's lineup, bringing carbon rail construction to riders who want a performance edge without sacrificing comfort on longer efforts. In India's 35°C+ conditions, the shell design and cover material matter enormously — this saddle is selected for Indian conditions precisely because it doesn't rely on thick foam that compresses and traps heat over a four-hour ride through Coorg or Ooty.

Sizing for Indian Riders

European saddle sizing translates directly to sit-bone width, which for most Indian riders falls between 130–155mm. Measure your sit bones at home using the cardboard method — sit firmly, mark the dimples, measure between centres, then add approximately 25mm. Riders with narrower pelvic structures, common among male road cyclists, typically favour the narrower options in Selle Repente's range. In heat, a slightly wider fit reduces friction.

Compatibility Notes

The Quasar CR 2.0 uses carbon rails — confirm your seatpost clamp is carbon-rail compatible before fitting. Use a torque wrench and follow the manufacturer's specified torque values; overtightening carbon rails causes irreversible damage. Compatible with standard 7×7mm and oval-rail clamps on most road and performance seatposts. Clean the cover with a damp cloth; avoid solvent-based cleaners.

Pairs Well With

Complete your contact-point setup with a quality pair of padded bib shorts for long rides in Chennai or Hyderabad heat, a carbon-compatible seatpost matched to your frame diameter, chamois cream for multi-hour efforts, and a lightweight saddle bag that doesn't interfere with saddle flex.
