Quick Release Alloy Skewer

A quick release skewer is one of those small parts that earns its keep every single ride. The Token Quick Release Alloy Skewer is a practical, well-built replacement or upgrade option for riders running traditional QR axle frames — keeping your wheel secure whether you are sprinting on Delhi's expressways or navigating a rough descent in the Western Ghats.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For riders on QR-standard frames, skewer quality directly affects wheel security and removal ease. Token's alloy construction offers a meaningful step up from the generic skewers bundled with entry-level wheels. In India's heat — where metal expands and bolts can loosen — a properly tensioned, quality skewer gives genuine peace of mind on long Pune–Lonavala training rides or weekend Ghats climbs. Reliable, fuss-free, and priced accessibly at Rs. 1,350.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Quick release skewers are not one-size-fits-all. Front QR skewers suit 100mm fork dropouts; rear skewers suit 130mm (road) or 135mm (MTB/gravel) frames. Confirm your frame's rear dropout spacing before ordering. This is not a thru-axle product — verify your frame uses a traditional quick release standard before purchasing.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with standard QR wheel hubs and frames using 100mm front or 130mm/135mm rear dropout spacing. Not compatible with thru-axle frames (12x100mm, 12x142mm, or similar). Works with rim brake and disc brake wheels provided the hub is QR-standard. Check skewer lever clearance with oversized chainstays on gravel frames before installing.

Pairs Well With

Round out your wheel setup with a quality rim tape or tubeless conversion kit, a set of performance road or gravel tyres suited to Indian tarmac, tubeless valves and sealant for puncture protection on rough surfaces, and a torque-indicating tool for correct installation tension.
