R720 Magnetic Roller Bicycle Trainer

When Mumbai monsoons flood roads and Delhi summers push temperatures past 40°C, indoor training stops being optional. The Minoura R720 Magnetic Roller Bicycle Trainer is a magnetic resistance trainer built for consistent, structured sessions at home — reliable, relatively quiet, and designed to keep your fitness sharp through India's most unforgiving riding months.

Use Cases

Indoor training. Structured workouts via Zwift, TrainerRoad, or Wahoo SYSTM.

Race day prep. Smart-trainer simulation of race-day power demands.

Year-round training. Indoor riding through Indian monsoon, peak heat, and pollution-heavy days.

Our Take

The Minoura R720 is a practical choice for Indian riders who need a dependable indoor training solution without overcomplicating the setup. Magnetic resistance means no electronics to fail in humid conditions — an underrated advantage during Pune or Chennai monsoon months. At Rs. 34,990, it sits in a sensible range for serious amateurs who want structured training without committing to a full smart trainer ecosystem.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The R720 is a trainer, not a garment, but axle and quick-release compatibility matters. Most Indian riders on standard road or hybrid bikes with quick-release skewers will find it straightforward to set up. Thru-axle frames require an adaptor — confirm your frame standard before ordering. Contact Cobbled Climbs if you are unsure about your bike's rear axle format.

Compatibility Notes

The Minoura R720 is a wheel-on magnetic trainer, meaning it works with your bike's existing rear wheel and cassette — no separate cassette purchase required. It accommodates standard quick-release rear axles. Pair with a training-specific rear tyre to reduce wear and noise. A vibration-dampening mat is strongly recommended for apartment floors.

Pairs Well With

Complete your indoor training setup with a quality training mat for floor protection and noise reduction, a sweat guard to shield your frame from corrosion during long sessions, a high-output desk fan for ventilation in warm Indian rooms, and a cadence or heart-rate sensor for structured workout data.
