Ranger Comp 29" Wired Tire

The WTB Ranger Comp Wired Tire is built for riders who push beyond smooth tarmac — tackling mixed surfaces, patchy city roads, and everything between Pune's bypass highways and the loose gravel trails around Coorg or Ooty. A wired bead makes it affordable and easy to install, keeping your setup reliable whether you ride daily or adventure on weekends.

Use Cases

Daily training. Puncture-resistant rubber compound for Indian roads with debris and rough tarmac.

Race day. Low rolling resistance and supple casing for competitive efforts.

Tubeless setup. Tubeless-ready bead and casing for sealant-based puncture resistance.

Our Take

The Ranger Comp sits squarely in the sweet spot for Indian all-road riding. Its directional tread pattern bites well on the kind of unpredictable surfaces you find on Western Ghats climbs and Hyderabad's outskirts alike. At Rs. 3,150 with free delivery on orders above Rs. 2,500, it offers real grip and durable construction without demanding a premium budget. Selected for Indian conditions, it handles heat above 35°C without complaint.

Sizing for Indian Riders

WTB sizes follow standard international conventions — confirm your rim's bead diameter (typically 29-inch or 27.5-inch for mountain and gravel bikes) and check internal rim width against WTB's recommended range. Indian riders running wider rims for better compliance on broken roads should size up in width for improved stability and lower rolling resistance on loose surfaces.

Compatibility Notes

The Ranger Comp uses a wired (clincher) bead and requires a standard inner tube. It is not tubeless-ready. Confirm your rim accepts a clincher tyre and check frame clearance for the width you choose. Compatible with hooked clincher rims across standard mountain and gravel builds. Inspect regularly for embedded glass or thorns common on Indian roadsides.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with quality butyl inner tubes, a durable floor pump with a pressure gauge, compact tyre levers for roadside repairs, and a CO2 inflator kit for longer rides into areas like Leh or Lonavala where service stops are sparse.
