Rapid X Rubber Base

The Cateye Rapid X Rubber Base is a replacement rubber mounting base designed to keep your Rapid X light securely fixed to your handlebar or seatpost. At just Rs. 199, it is the kind of small accessory that prevents a much bigger headache — a light bouncing loose on a potholed Pune bypass or a fast Lonavala descent is not a situation you want to find yourself in.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Indian roads demand more from every component, including the humble rubber base. Speed bumps, broken tarmac between Chennai's suburbs, and the constant vibration of Ahmedabad city riding all conspire to wear down mounting hardware faster than European conditions would. The Cateye Rapid X Rubber Base is a smart, low-cost insurance policy. Keep a spare in your saddle bag and you will never be caught riding after dark without a functioning rear light.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a mounting accessory rather than a sized garment or shoe, so fit is determined by handlebar or seatpost diameter rather than body measurements. The rubber base is designed specifically for Cateye Rapid X lights and fits standard round seatposts and handlebars. If you run an aerofoil or non-standard seatpost, confirm compatibility with Cobbled Climbs before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

This rubber base is designed for use with the Cateye Rapid X light family. It is not a universal mount and will not suit other Cateye light models or third-party lights. Clean the base periodically to remove road grime and check for rubber degradation, particularly after prolonged monsoon exposure, which accelerates wear on rubber components.

Pairs Well With

Complete your safety and visibility setup by pairing this base with a Cateye Rapid X rear light, a front handlebar-mounted light, a reflective cycling vest for night rides, and a set of tyre levers and a multi-tool for roadside repairs. Available across all categories at Cobbled Climbs.
