Ray 800l Front Light

Riding before sunrise on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway or navigating Chennai's pre-dawn streets demands a front light that does two jobs well: illuminate the road ahead and make you visible to fast-moving traffic. The Magicshine Ray 800l Front Light delivers meaningful output for both tasks, offering multiple brightness modes to suit everything from city commutes to early-morning Western Ghats climbs.

Use Cases

Commuting. Visibility for early-morning and evening rides through Indian traffic.

Night training. High-output beam for night rides on unlit Indian roads.

Group rides. See-and-be-seen lighting for low-visibility conditions.

Our Take

India's riding calendar is unforgiving — monsoon downpours in Coorg, dusty pre-dawn highways outside Ahmedabad, and the blinding glare of oncoming headlights on Lonavala descents. The Magicshine Ray 800l handles these conditions with confidence. At 800 lumens, it throws enough light for technical descents while the lower flash modes keep you visible to traffic without draining the battery before you reach home.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Front lights are not sized like apparel, but mount compatibility matters. Indian cyclists frequently run 31.8mm or 35mm handlebars on modern road and gravel bikes. Verify your handlebar diameter before ordering. The Ray 800l's mount system accommodates common bar sizes, but if you run a compact aero cockpit or a rise bar on your city commuter, confirm fit with our team at Cobbled Climbs before purchase.

Compatibility Notes

The Ray 800l charges via USB, making it compatible with standard power banks and wall adapters widely available across India — useful on multi-day touring routes from Leh to Manali. Works with standard round handlebars; aero or non-standard bar profiles may need an adapter. Store dry after monsoon rides and charge fully before storage to protect the internal cell.

Pairs Well With

Complete your visibility setup with a matching rear light for 360-degree road presence. A helmet mount adds a secondary beam for tight switchbacks on Ooty or Khandala climbs. A power bank with USB output extends run time on long brevets, and a handlebar bag keeps cables tidy on touring builds.
