RD Hanger - RDH1

The Aurum RD Hanger RDH1 is a precision-machined derailleur hanger designed to protect your rear derailleur in the event of a crash or trail impact. A small component with a big job, the sacrificial hanger saves your frame — and your ride — from costly damage on everything from Mumbai's potholed arterials to the steep descents of Lonavala and Coorg.

Our Take

Indian roads are unforgiving. Sudden potholes, aggressive road camber on the Western Ghats, and the occasional unavoidable kerb strike all put stress on your drivetrain. Having the correct replacement hanger on hand means the difference between finishing your ride and calling for a pickup. The Aurum RDH1 is purpose-built for Aurum frames, ensuring a precise fit that generic hangers simply cannot guarantee. At Rs. 4,000, it is the most affordable insurance policy in your toolkit.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Derailleur hangers are frame-specific rather than rider-specific, so there is no body sizing consideration here. What matters is matching the correct hanger to your exact Aurum frame model. If you are unsure which variant your frame requires, check your frame's documentation or contact the Cobbled Climbs team before ordering. Carrying a spare when heading to remote routes in Leh or Ooty is strongly recommended.

Compatibility Notes

The RDH1 is designed exclusively for compatible Aurum road frames. It works with standard rear derailleur mounting threads and is compatible with both mechanical and electronic groupsets. Always use the manufacturer-specified hanger — a mismatched hanger can compromise derailleur alignment and cause poor shifting or further drivetrain damage. Hand-tighten with care to avoid thread stripping.

Pairs Well With

Keep your drivetrain in top condition by pairing this hanger with a quality chain lubricant suited to Indian monsoon conditions, a chain wear indicator tool, a compact multi-tool for on-road hanger swaps, and a derailleur alignment gauge for precise setup after replacement.
