Description
The Rock Shox Recon 29 Silver RL Thru Axle Suspension Fork brings dependable trail performance to 29er mountain bikes, pairing a thru-axle front end with Rock Shox's RL damper tune. For Indian trail riders tackling everything from rocky Aravalli trails to the rooted singletrack of Coorg and Ooty, a capable suspension fork is the difference between confidence and fatigue. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Rockshox in India.
Use Cases
Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.
Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.
Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.
Our Take
The Recon 29 Silver RL sits in a sweet spot for Indian mountain riders who want reliable, adjustable suspension without paying flagship prices. The thru-axle standard delivers noticeably better front-end stiffness on loose, broken terrain — exactly what riders encounter on Pune's Sinhagad trails or Shimla's steeper descents. In India's summer heat above 35°C, consistent damper performance matters, and the RL tune holds up well across varying trail conditions.
Sizing for Indian Riders
This fork is built for 29-inch wheels and must be matched to a compatible 29er mountain bike frame with a thru-axle dropout. Rider height is less relevant than frame compatibility here — confirm your frame's axle standard, steerer tube diameter, and travel rating before ordering. Indian riders converting from quick-release forks should verify frame dropout machining before installation.
Compatibility Notes
Designed for 29-inch wheel mountain bikes with thru-axle front dropouts. Uses a standard tapered or straight steerer — confirm your frame's headset specification. Compatible with post mount or IS disc brake adapters. Regular service intervals are recommended, particularly after monsoon riding when mud and water ingress accelerate wear.
Pairs Well With
Complete your trail build with a matching rear shock if your frame is full-suspension, a quality 29er tubeless-ready wheelset, mountain bike hydraulic disc brakes, and purpose-built trail or cross-country tyres suited to Indian terrain. Available now at Cobbled Climbs with free delivery above Rs. 2,500.
