Riddler Comp 700c Wired Tire

The WTB Riddler Comp Wired Tire is a gravel-oriented tyre built for riders who want confident grip on mixed terrain — from patched tarmac on the outskirts of Pune to loose gravel descents near Coorg or Ooty. With a wired bead construction and WTB's proven Comp casing, it offers durable everyday performance at an accessible price point for Indian riders exploring beyond paved roads.

Use Cases

Daily training. Puncture-resistant rubber compound for Indian roads with debris and rough tarmac.

Race day. Low rolling resistance and supple casing for competitive efforts.

Tubeless setup. Tubeless-ready bead and casing for sealant-based puncture resistance.

Our Take

The Riddler's open tread pattern makes it genuinely capable on the kind of mixed surfaces Indian cyclists actually encounter — broken village roads outside Hyderabad, wet laterite gravel in the Western Ghats, or dusty trails near Ahmedabad. The Comp casing keeps the price realistic without sacrificing too much tread life. For riders in Chennai or Kolkata who face both monsoon flooding and summer heat above 35°C, this tyre's compound holds grip where cheaper alternatives slip.

Sizing for Indian Riders

The Riddler is available in multiple widths — wider options suit Indian roads better than narrow setups. Riders in Delhi or Pune navigating broken surfaces should favour the wider available size for added cushioning and puncture protection. European sizing applies directly: match your rim's bead diameter (700c or 650b) and confirm your frame's tyre clearance before ordering. Wired bead fits standard clincher rims with an inner tube.

Compatibility Notes

The Riddler Comp Wired is a clincher tyre requiring a standard inner tube — it is not tubeless-ready. It fits hooked clincher rims in the appropriate bead diameter. Confirm frame and fork tyre clearance for your chosen width. Pair with a quality butyl tube and tyre levers for straightforward installation. Not compatible with hookless rims.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with quality butyl inner tubes in the matching size, a reliable mini-pump or CO2 inflator for roadside repairs, tyre levers for easier mounting, and a handlebar bag or saddle pack to carry spares on longer gravel rides through places like Khandala or Lonavala.
