Road PRO Diy Brake Cable Kit

Brake cables are the quiet workhorses of any road bike — and in India's conditions, from monsoon-slicked Chennai streets to punishing Lonavala descents, the quality of your cable kit determines how confidently you can stop. The Jagwire Road PRO DIY Brake Cable Kit gives you professional-grade brake cable replacement in one complete package, letting you refresh your braking feel and maintain precise modulation at home or in the workshop.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

India's roads demand reliable braking year-round. Whether you're navigating Delhi's chaotic traffic, descending the Western Ghats in damp post-monsoon air, or pushing hard on a Pune–Lonavala training ride, cable tension and housing quality directly affect stopping confidence. The Jagwire Road PRO DIY Kit delivers consistent pull feel and smooth actuation, making it one of the more practical upgrades a road cyclist in India can make without visiting a mechanic.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a universal cable kit, not a sized garment — but fit still matters. Confirm your brake lever type (drop-bar road, flat-bar, or TT) before ordering, as cable end fittings differ. In India's heat and humidity, housing quality degrades faster; Jagwire's lined housing resists moisture ingress better than budget alternatives, making it especially suitable for coastal cities like Mumbai, Chennai, and Kochi.

Compatibility Notes

The Road PRO DIY Kit is designed for rim brake systems — caliper and dual-pivot road brakes — not hydraulic disc systems. Confirm your brake lever accepts standard road barrel-end inners. The kit includes housing, ferrules, end caps, and cable ends; verify lengths suit your frame size before cutting. Keep housing cuts clean and perpendicular to avoid friction and poor modulation.

Pairs Well With

Complete your brake service with brake cable lubrication or dry PTFE lubricant, a quality cable cutter tool for clean housing ends, compatible rim brake pads suited to alloy or carbon rims, and bar tape if you're refreshing the cockpit at the same time.
