Silicone Swim Cap

The 2XU Silicone Swim Cap is a straightforward, durable pool essential built for swimmers who want reliable head coverage without fuss. Made from silicone, it keeps hair dry, reduces drag, and holds its shape through repeated pool sessions — whether you are training in Chennai, Hyderabad, or Mumbai's indoor aquatic centres.

Use Cases

Under-helmet sweat management. Absorbs forehead sweat in 35°C+ heat across Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai conditions.

Sun protection. Peak shields the eyes and forehead from direct sun on long Indian summer rides.

Style and finish. Completes a coordinated kit for daily rides and group rides.

Our Take

Silicone caps outlast latex alternatives considerably, and 2XU's version benefits from a brand that genuinely understands performance sport. For Indian swimmers dealing with chlorinated municipal pools or open-water sessions in warmer conditions, silicone is the practical choice — it won't degrade quickly in heat, won't tear during a rushed pre-race pull-on, and sits securely without gripping hair painfully. At Rs. 790, it represents solid value for a cap that should last a full season and beyond.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This cap fits most adult and teen head sizes. Silicone stretches generously, so one size typically accommodates a wide range of head circumferences. Swimmers with thicker or longer hair may find the fit tighter — account for that when pulling it on. Check the 2XU size guide for head circumference if you are between sizes. Indian swimmers with fuller head shapes generally find silicone more comfortable than latex due to its softer stretch.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with standard swimming goggles worn over or under the cap. Silicone is chlorine-resistant and suitable for both pool and open-water use. Rinse with fresh water after each session and allow to dry flat or dusted with talc to prevent sticking. Avoid folding sharply for storage. Suitable for adults and teens.

Pairs Well With

Complete your swim kit with a pair of performance swimming goggles, a technical swimsuit or triathlon suit, anti-fog goggle spray, and a fast-dry swim towel. If you are training for a triathlon, a neoprene swim cap worn over this one adds warmth in open water.
