Silver Star Brake Cable Kit for MTB

Brake cables are the unsung heroes of MTB performance — and in India's demanding conditions, from monsoon-slicked roads in Pune to steep Lonavala descents, the quality of your cable kit directly affects stopping confidence. The Alligator Silver Star Brake Cable Kit for MTB brings precision engineering to mechanical brake systems, giving riders consistent pull and feel across varied terrain.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For Indian mountain bikers riding the Western Ghats, Coorg trails, or weekend Ooty climbs, cable condition is often the first thing that degrades. Alligator's Silver Star kit addresses this with a complete, quality-matched cable and housing solution. The consistent actuation feel matters enormously in stop-start traffic across Chennai or Hyderabad and equally on fast technical descents where precise modulation keeps things honest.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a cable kit, not a size-specific component — but cable length matters. Most MTB frames are accommodated by standard kit lengths, though long-travel bikes with dropper posts or unusual cable routing may need additional housing. In India's humid climate, route cables away from direct heat sources and inspect housing ends after each monsoon season for corrosion ingress.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for MTB mechanical brake systems — compatible with flat-bar levers and standard brake caliper anchor bolts. Not suitable for hydraulic systems. Works with both rim-brake and mechanical disc-brake setups depending on lever pull type. Check your lever's pull ratio (short or long pull) before fitting. Housing end-caps are included; ensure ferrules seat cleanly into lever and caliper ports.

Pairs Well With

Complete your brake service with a compatible set of MTB brake levers, fresh brake pads matched to your rotor or rim type, a quality cable cutter for clean housing ends, and bar tape or grip replacements to round out your cockpit refresh.
