Silver Star Brake Cable Kit

Brake cables are the unsung connectors between your hands and stopping power. The Alligator Silver Star Brake Cable Kit delivers consistent, reliable actuation for road, mountain, and hybrid riders across India's demanding mix of monsoon-soaked streets, dusty Deccan highways, and long Ghat descents where every metre of braking counts.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

Alligator's Silver Star kit earns its place on Indian bikes by offering smooth cable pull and dependable performance in conditions that punish lesser components fast. Whether you're navigating Pune's rain-slicked evening traffic or managing speed on a Lonavala descent, fresh, quality brake cables restore the crisp, confident feel that worn-out housing erases. At Rs. 1,890 with free delivery above Rs. 2,500, this is a genuinely worthwhile mechanical upgrade.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Brake cable kits are generally universal for road, hybrid, and mountain setups, but confirm your brake lever type before ordering — drop-bar levers use a different barrel-end nipple than flat-bar MTB levers. In India's high-humidity climate, replacing cables and housing together every season prevents premature corrosion inside the outer casing, which silently degrades pull quality long before cables snap.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with rim brake systems including caliper and cantilever, and mechanical disc brake setups. Not for hydraulic systems, which use fluid lines rather than cables. Works with Shimano, SRAM, and most aftermarket brake levers. Stainless steel construction resists corrosion well in humid coastal cities like Chennai, Kochi, and Mumbai. Cut to length using a sharp cable cutter for a clean, fray-free end.

Pairs Well With

Complete your brake service with fresh outer brake housing, quality brake pads matched to your rim or rotor type, cable end-caps to prevent fraying, and a set of Allen keys or a multi-tool for installation. All available across Cobbled Climbs' components range.
