Slick Comp 29" Wired Tire

The WTB Slick Comp Wired Tire is built for riders who want predictable, efficient rolling on paved and light-mixed surfaces. A slick tread profile keeps contact clean on tarmac, while the wired bead construction makes installation straightforward — a practical advantage when you're fixing a flat on the Pune–Mumbai Expressway or after a wet descent from Lonavala.

Use Cases

Daily training. Puncture-resistant rubber compound for Indian roads with debris and rough tarmac.

Race day. Low rolling resistance and supple casing for competitive efforts.

Tubeless setup. Tubeless-ready bead and casing for sealant-based puncture resistance.

Our Take

For Indian road cyclists riding patched urban tarmac in Chennai or Delhi, or climbing the steady gradients above Khandala, the WTB Slick Comp delivers where it counts: consistent rolling efficiency and a durable wired casing that handles heat-baked asphalt without complaint. At Rs. 2,575 — just above Cobbled Climbs' free-delivery threshold — it represents honest value for a training or commuter tyre selected for Indian conditions.

Sizing for Indian Riders

WTB follows standard ISO bead-diameter sizing (700c for most road bikes). Indian riders with heavier builds or those tackling rougher city roads in Hyderabad or Ahmedabad should lean toward wider widths within the available range for better cushioning and puncture resistance. Verify your rim's inner width before ordering — tyre width and rim width must be compatible for safe fitment.

Compatibility Notes

The Slick Comp is a wired (clincher) bead tyre and requires a standard hooked clincher rim — it is not designed for hookless rims. Use with a quality inner tube suited to your valve type (Presta or Schrader). The wired bead is not tubeless-ready. Check frame clearance for your chosen width before purchasing.

Pairs Well With

Complete your setup with quality inner tubes matched to your valve hole, a reliable floor pump with a pressure gauge, compact tyre levers for roadside repairs, and a puncture repair kit or CO2 inflator for longer rides through Coorg or Ooty.
