Sm-bh59 Jk SS Disc Brake Hose

The Shimano SM-BH59 JK SS Disc Brake Hose is a replacement hydraulic brake hose designed for road, gravel, and mountain bike disc brake systems. Whether you're navigating Pune's pre-monsoon traffic, climbing towards Lonavala, or descending steep Ghat gradients, reliable brake hydraulics keep your stopping power consistent and predictable across all conditions.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

India's riding calendar throws everything at brake systems — monsoon-slicked descents from Khandala, 35°C+ summer rides through Hyderabad, and rutted roads around Coorg. The SM-BH59 JK SS hose maintains hydraulic integrity where it matters most: consistent lever feel and reliable fluid transfer. It's a straightforward upgrade or replacement that restores braking confidence without overcomplicating your build. A smart, essential purchase for any disc brake cyclist serious about safety.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a hose kit, not a clothing item, but fit still matters — hose length must suit your frame size and cable routing. Longer frames and full-suspension mountain bikes typically need more hose length. Indian riders on road or gravel bikes should confirm their frame's routing before ordering. Available lengths vary; measure existing hose or consult your local mechanic before purchasing.

Compatibility Notes

The SM-BH59 JK SS is compatible with Shimano hydraulic disc brake systems across road, gravel, and mountain disciplines. Designed for use with Shimano mineral oil — never use DOT fluid, which will damage seals permanently. Confirm compatibility with your specific brake caliper model before fitting. Bleed the system after installation using Shimano's recommended bleed procedure and tools.
