Spinshield Sunglasses

Indian roads test your eyes as much as your legs — glaring afternoon sun on the Delhi-Agra highway, tunnel darkness through the Western Ghats, and monsoon spray on Pune's outer ring. The Rudy Project Spinshield is a wide-coverage cycling sunglass built for riders who take their eye protection as seriously as their training.

Use Cases

Daily training. Protective eyewear for sun, dust, and insect protection on Indian roads.

Race day. Wide-coverage frames with race-tuned lenses for visibility and aerodynamic fit.

Variable conditions. Photochromic or interchangeable lenses for varied light through Ghat tunnels and dawn-to-day rides.

Our Take

The Spinshield's large-format rectangular frame delivers exceptional peripheral coverage, which matters when riding the exposed climbs above Lonavala or on Hyderabad's fast open bypasses. Italian engineering from Rudy Project means the fit is precise without being tight, and the frame handles India's 35°C+ heat without warping or slipping. For riders who log hours outdoors, this is eyewear chosen for function first — and it shows in every detail.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Rudy Project sizes the Spinshield as one-size-fits-most for adults, which works well for average to larger face widths common across Indian riders. Those with narrower or smaller faces — common among riders in South India and Chennai's cycling community — should check frame width and use the adjustable nose pads and temple tips to fine-tune the fit before a long ride.

Compatibility Notes

The Spinshield is compatible with all standard cycling helmets — check temple arm clearance with your specific helmet before buying. Most Rudy Project frames accept prescription inserts; confirm model-specific compatibility. Clean lenses only with a microfibre cloth and dedicated lens cleaner. Avoid paper towels and harsh solvents, which damage lens coatings.

Pairs Well With

Complete your kit with a well-ventilated cycling helmet that offers good temple clearance, a lightweight cycling cap for under-helmet sweat management, a microfibre lens cleaning cloth, and a hard protective case for travel to rides in Coorg or Ooty.
