St-5700 Hood Covers

Replacement hood covers for the Shimano ST-5700 105 shifters are the kind of small upgrade that makes a noticeable difference on long days in the saddle. Whether you are grinding up the Ghats near Pune, logging base miles through Chennai heat, or just refreshing worn-out hoods after a wet monsoon season, a fresh pair restores grip and comfort exactly where your hands spend most of their Time.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

The ST-5700 hood covers sit on one of Shimano's most enduring groupsets — 105 in its 10-speed form remains a staple on thousands of Indian bikes. After a couple of monsoon seasons, hoods harden, crack, or lose their tackiness. Swapping them out is one of the cheapest comfort wins available. The rubber compound holds up well in 35°C+ heat and stays grippy even through a soaking Western Ghats descent. At Rs. 530, this is straightforward, honest value.

Sizing for Indian Riders

These covers are model-specific: they fit the ST-5700 shifter body only and are not adjustable. There is no size selection to make — confirm your shifter model number (printed on the shifter body) is ST-5700 before ordering. If you have upgraded to 105 R7000 or another generation, these will not fit. Contact Cobbled Climbs via WhatsApp if you are unsure of your shifter generation.

Compatibility Notes

Designed exclusively for Shimano ST-5700 brake-shift levers. Not compatible with ST-R7000, ST-5800, Tiagra, Sora, or any other generation. Works with standard drop-bar tape setups. Clean the shifter body with a damp cloth before fitting new covers to ensure a snug, even seat. All Shimano products at Cobbled Climbs are 100% genuine and authorised.

Pairs Well With

Consider pairing with fresh bar tape for a complete cockpit refresh. Brake cable and housing sets are a natural companion service item. Shimano-compatible brake pads and a quality chain lubricant suited to Indian dust and monsoon conditions round out a practical maintenance bundle.
