St-r8070 Bracket Covers

Brake hoods are the one component your hands never leave on a long ride. The Shimano ST-R8070 Bracket Covers are the factory-fit rubber hoods for the Ultegra Di2 hydraulic STI lever, keeping your grip secure, your hands comfortable, and the lever internals protected through every condition Indian roads throw at you.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

If your existing Ultegra Di2 hoods are cracked, slippery from sweat, or hardened after seasons of riding through Pune's summer heat or Lonavala's monsoon spray, replacing them is the single cheapest upgrade you can make to your contact points. These covers restore the precise tactile feel Shimano engineered into the R8070 lever, maintaining secure hand placement on technical Ghat descents where grip confidence genuinely matters.

Sizing for Indian Riders

These covers are a direct replacement specifically for the ST-R8070 Di2 lever — they are not universal fit. Indian riders with smaller hands will find the Ultegra lever profile comfortable straight out of the box. In 35°C+ heat, palms sweat quickly; the textured rubber compound helps maintain grip. Check your lever model number before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible exclusively with the Shimano ST-R8070 hydraulic Di2 STI lever. Not interchangeable with mechanical Ultegra (R8000), Dura-Ace (R9100/R9200), or GRX levers. Fit is straightforward — no tools required. Clean the lever body with isopropyl alcohol before fitting for a secure, rattle-free seat.

Pairs Well With

Complete your Ultegra Di2 drivetrain service with Shimano mineral oil for a brake bleed, bar tape suited to humid conditions, hydraulic hose and fittings if upgrading, and a quality torque wrench for lever clamp bolts. All available at Cobbled Climbs.
