Stratos BLK Sunglasses

Indian roads demand eyewear that earns its place in the kit bag. Between the blinding afternoon sun on Delhi's ring roads, dust kicked up on Pune's outskirts, and the low-light flicker through Western Ghats tunnels, protection is a daily requirement. The Alba Optics Stratos BLK Sunglasses is built around that reality — a performance-focused frame designed to stay in place and stay clear when conditions push back.

Use Cases

Daily training. Protective eyewear for sun, dust, and insect protection on Indian roads.

Race day. Wide-coverage frames with race-tuned lenses for visibility and aerodynamic fit.

Variable conditions. Photochromic or interchangeable lenses for varied light through Ghat tunnels and dawn-to-day rides.

Our Take

The Stratos BLK is a no-fuss, purpose-built piece of cycling eyewear that suits riders who prefer function over flash. The all-black colourway keeps things clean, and the frame geometry works well for road cycling postures where coverage matters over Ghat climbs. For Indian conditions — bright afternoon glare between Chennai and Coimbatore, or dusty service roads outside Ahmedabad — this frame offers reliable protection without unnecessary weight or bulk. A solid choice selected for Indian conditions by the team at Cobbled Climbs.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Alba Optics designs the Stratos as a one-size-fits-most adult frame, which suits a broad range of Indian riders. Those with narrower or smaller faces may find the fit slightly wide — adjustable nose pads and temple tips help dial this in. European cycling frames often run generous; check the frame width if you've found previous sunglasses shift during climbs.

Compatibility Notes

The Stratos BLK is compatible with most modern road and gravel cycling helmets — check temple arm clearance with deep-retention helmets before purchase. Non-polarised lenses mean bike computer screens remain fully readable. Clean lenses only with a microfibre cloth and dedicated lens solution; avoid paper towels and household cleaners that strip coatings. Store in a hard case when not riding.

Pairs Well With

Round out your kit with a well-ventilated road helmet that accommodates standard temple arms, a lightweight cycling cap for under-helmet sweat management on summer rides, a microfibre lens cleaning cloth, and a compact hard-shell case for travel to events in Lonavala or Ooty.
