Suntour 2-notch Freewheel Tool

When your Suntour freewheel needs removing — whether you're rebuilding an older commuter, restoring a vintage road bike, or simply replacing a worn cluster — having the right tool matters. The IceToolz Suntour 2-notch Freewheel Tool is a dedicated workshop and home-mechanic solution designed to fit Suntour-style freewheels with two notches, making removal clean, precise, and frustration-free. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Sr Suntour in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

Older Suntour freewheels are still common across India — on city commuters in Chennai, restored vintage bikes in Delhi, and budget builds ridden through Pune traffic daily. Attempting removal with a generic tool risks rounding the notches and destroying the freewheel body. IceToolz machines this tool to fit properly, giving home mechanics and small workshops the confidence to do the job right the first time without improvising.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a workshop tool, not an apparel item, so sizing in the traditional sense does not apply. What matters is confirming your freewheel is a Suntour 2-notch type before ordering. If you are unsure which freewheel standard your hub uses, contact Cobbled Climbs — our team can help identify the correct tool based on your bike's drivetrain generation and brand.

Compatibility Notes

Designed specifically for Suntour-style freewheels with 2-notch engagement. Not compatible with Shimano or SRAM cassette-style freehubs, nor with other freewheel standards using different notch counts or spline patterns. Works with standard bench vices and freewheel-tool adapters. Pair with a quality adjustable wrench or socket for proper torque during removal.

Pairs Well With

Complete your drivetrain service kit with a chain wear indicator tool, a freewheel vice adapter or cassette holder, a quality chain lube suited to Indian monsoon and dusty conditions, and a chain breaker or quick-link pliers for full drivetrain overhaul capability.
