Description
The Kona Sutra is a complete touring and adventure bicycle engineered for riders who want to go further — loaded or unloaded, on tarmac or trail. Built as an integrated system rather than a loose parts assembly, every component has been chosen to serve the bike's core purpose: capable, long-distance riding across varied terrain and conditions.
Use Cases
Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.
Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.
Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.
Our Take
India's riding landscape rewards a bike like the Sutra. From the switchbacks of Coorg and Ooty to the high-altitude stretches toward Leh, this is a machine built for distance with luggage. For Pune and Chennai riders tackling multi-day routes on state highways and broken village roads alike, the Sutra's touring geometry means all-day comfort doesn't come at the cost of control. It earns its price at Rs. 2,11,900.
Sizing for Indian Riders
Kona sizes the Sutra using seat tube length — measure both your inseam and standing height before ordering. Indian riders averaging shorter torso proportions relative to leg length may find a size down suits reach and handling better. In India's summer heat above 35°C, a slightly relaxed position reduces fatigue on long days. A professional bike fit after delivery is strongly advised.
Compatibility Notes
The Sutra ships as a complete, professionally assembled bicycle. Pedals are not included — choose according to your cleat system (2-bolt SPD recommended for touring use). Verify rack and mudguard mounting points match your planned accessories. First service is recommended after the initial 100km of riding to check cable tension and torque settings.
Pairs Well With
Complete your touring setup with a quality handlebar bag or frame pack for bikepacking storage, SPD touring pedals matched to your shoes, a reliable mini-pump and puncture kit for remote stretches, and a well-fitted cycling helmet.
