Symmetric AERO Profile 700c RIM

Indian roads demand a lot from wheels — one moment you're cruising expressway tarmac on the Mumbai-Pune stretch, the next you're threading through potholed city lanes or tackling a Lonavala Ghat climb. The Controltech Symmetric AERO Profile 700c RIM is built for riders who want genuine aerodynamic performance without sacrificing the lateral stiffness that Indian road conditions demand.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

At Rs. 2,999, the Controltech Symmetric AERO Profile 700c RIM offers a meaningful upgrade path for Indian road cyclists. The symmetric aero profile keeps airflow predictable in crosswinds — relevant on exposed Deccan plateau roads and coastal routes near Chennai or Goa. Paired with the right tyre width, this rim rewards climbing riders on the Ghats while holding its own at pace on flatter terrain. A sensible performance step up.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a 700c rim, fitting standard road and gravel frames across India. Before ordering, confirm your frame's axle standard, brake type, and maximum tyre clearance. Riders in Pune, Hyderabad, and Delhi often run wider tyres to handle variable road surfaces — check that your frame accommodates your preferred tyre width with this rim's profile before building up.

Compatibility Notes

Compatible with standard 700c road and gravel builds. Verify your frame's axle standard (QR or thru-axle), brake type (rim or disc), and cassette body before ordering. If setting up tubeless, you will need tubeless-compatible tyres, valves, and sealant separately. Rim brake users should confirm correct brake pad compound for the rim surface material to avoid premature wear.

Pairs Well With

Complete your build with quality road or gravel tyres matched to the rim's internal width, tubeless sealant and valve stems for a puncture-resistant setup, a precision spoke tension meter for wheel building, and a torque wrench for safe installation. A rim tape upgrade is also worth considering for tubeless conversion.
