Sync Kinetic Rechargeable Rear Light

Riding before sunrise on Pune's Katraj stretch or threading through Chennai's evening traffic demands a rear light that earns attention from drivers. The Cateye Sync Kinetic Rechargeable Rear Light is built for exactly these conditions — offering reliable visibility, USB recharging convenience, and the kind of mount security that survives potholed city roads and monsoon downpours alike.

Use Cases

Commuting. Be-seen lighting for early-morning and evening rides in traffic.

Group rides. Rear visibility for low-light conditions on group rides.

Daytime running. Daytime-flash mode for visibility on Indian roads.

Our Take

For Indian riders tackling low-light commutes in Delhi, pre-dawn training loops in Hyderabad, or late-evening descents off the Western Ghats near Lonavala, a dependable rear light is non-negotiable. The Sync Kinetic impresses with its kinetic energy harvesting concept, reducing how often you reach for a cable. In Indian heat and monsoon humidity, that reliability matters far more than marginal lumen counts.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Rear lights are mount-fit dependent, not body-size dependent. The key question is seatpost diameter and whether you run a round post, an aero post, or a saddle bag. Cateye's mount system is widely compatible, but riders using deep-section aero seatposts — increasingly common in Bangalore and Mumbai's gran fondo scene — should confirm adapter availability before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

The Sync Kinetic mounts to standard round and some aero seatposts. It recharges via USB, compatible with the same cables used for most cycling computers and accessories. If you run Cateye's Sync system with a front light, the paired flashing mode activates automatically — a genuinely useful safety feature for Indian roads. Store dry between monsoon rides to protect charging contacts.

Pairs Well With

Complete your visibility setup with a matched Cateye front light for Sync pairing, a seatpost bag for carrying essentials on longer rides, a cycling computer for training data, and a helmet to carry an additional backup light for Coorg or Ooty night finishes.
