Tangente Platinum RIM Brake Pads

The Zipp Tangente Platinum RIM Brake Pads are purpose-built for riders who demand precise, consistent stopping power. Whether you're navigating Chennai's monsoon-slicked streets, descending the Western Ghats above Lonavala, or sprinting through Pune traffic, these pads are designed to give you the confidence to push harder and brake later.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

Zipp's Tangente Platinum compound is a thoughtful upgrade for any rim-brake wheelset. Indian riding throws everything at brake pads — monsoon wet, 35°C+ tarmac heat, and the prolonged friction of Khandala or Coorg descents. This compound manages heat and maintains modulation where cheaper pads fade. If you're running quality carbon or alloy rim wheels, these pads are a worthwhile upgrade that rewards both training riders and weekend climbers.

Sizing for Indian Riders

These are rim brake pads — confirm your caliper accepts standard or direct-mount pad cartridges before ordering. Zipp Tangente pads are designed for use with Zipp's carbon and aluminium rims, so verify your rim surface type matches the pad compound. In high-heat Indian summers, rim temperature management matters; avoid prolonged drag braking on long descents.

Compatibility Notes

Designed for rim brake calipers — not compatible with disc systems. Match compound to your rim material: carbon-specific compounds must be used on carbon rims, as alloy-compound pads on carbon rims will cause surface damage. Inspect pad alignment and toe-in periodically, especially after monsoon riding where grit accelerates uneven wear.

Pairs Well With

Complete your brake system with quality rim brake cables and housing, a torque wrench for precise caliper adjustment, a carbon rim cleaning kit for consistent braking surfaces, and bar tape for confident grip on technical descents. Browse all brake accessories at Cobbled Climbs.
