TDF Grand Depart Lille Tank Baselayer

The Santini TDF Grand Depart Lille Tank Baselayer is a sleeveless technical layer built for riders who push hard in hot conditions. Celebrating the Tour de France Grand Départ in Lille, it combines Santini's performance fabric engineering with a commemorative design — making it as relevant on a Chennai coastal ride or a Pune club morning as it is on European race roads.

Use Cases

Hot conditions. Lightweight wicking base layer for under jerseys in 35°C+ Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai heat.

Cool weather rides. Thermal base layer for Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru winter morning starts.

Long rides. Moisture management for full-day rides where sweat regulation defines comfort.

Our Take

For Indian riders, a tank baselayer is often more practical than a full-sleeve layer for most of the year. At Rs. 2,850, this Santini piece sits at a price where you expect real moisture management — and it delivers. The moisture-wicking fabric pulls sweat away quickly during 35°C+ efforts on the Western Ghats or Delhi summer training loops, and the silicone hem gripper keeps everything in place over rolling terrain. It washes frequently without losing function, which matters when you're riding four or five days a week through a Pune or Bengaluru wet season.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Santini sizing runs to European slim standards — notably narrower through the chest and torso than Indian or Asian brands. If you normally wear a medium in Indian apparel, order a large here. Riders with broader shoulders or a chest above 100cm should size up without hesitation. In Hyderabad or Chennai heat, a slightly relaxed fit also improves airflow across the torso.

Compatibility Notes

Works under any road, gravel, or MTB jersey as a moisture management layer. Pairs cleanly with Santini bib shorts and jerseys for consistent fit at the hem. Machine wash cold with mild detergent — no fabric softener, which degrades wicking fibres. Hang to dry away from direct sun. During monsoon months, store completely dry to prevent mildew.

Pairs Well With

Complete your kit by adding a lightweight cycling jersey over this baselayer, bib shorts with a quality chamois for longer efforts, UV-protective arm sleeves for Ooty or Leh sun exposure, and a well-ventilated road helmet suited to Indian summer heat.
