Terranova Gravel Wind Vest

The Santini Terranova Gravel Wind Vest is built for riders who push hard across unpredictable terrain and weather — from the red-dust roads outside Pune to the misty descents of Coorg and the high-altitude passes near Leh. It brings wind-blocking protection to the front, breathability where you need it, and a gravel-ready fit that moves with you rather than against you.

Use Cases

Variable temperature rides. Wind-blocking front for cool morning starts that warm up during the ride.

Race day layering. Light-weight gilet that fits under a jersey or over a base layer without restricting movement.

Pre-monsoon and post-monsoon. Adds wind protection for transitional weather riding in Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.

Our Take

For Indian gravel and mixed-terrain riders, a wind vest fills a gap that a full jersey simply cannot. On early Lonavala mornings or Ooty descents, the temperature can drop sharply even when the climb was sweltering. The Terranova blocks frontal wind without trapping the heat you've built up, making it a smart carry-along for any rider serious about managing effort over long, varied days in the saddle.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Santini uses European sizing, which cuts slimmer than most Indian or Asian brands. If you typically wear a medium in domestic labels, order a large here. Riders with broader shoulders or a chest above 100cm should size up without hesitation. In peak summer above 38°C, a true-to-European-size fit worn directly over a base layer keeps airflow moving efficiently.

Compatibility Notes

Works across road, gravel, and MTB disciplines. Layers cleanly over Santini base layers and under a rain shell during monsoon stages. Machine wash at 30°C with mild detergent; avoid fabric softener, which degrades moisture-wicking fibres. Hang to dry — tumble drying damages technical construction. Store completely dry during monsoon months to prevent mildew.

Pairs Well With

Complete the setup with gravel-specific bib shorts for all-day comfort on mixed surfaces, a lightweight packable rain shell for monsoon stages, UV-protective arm sleeves for Chennai and Hyderabad summer rides, and a well-ventilated helmet to manage heat buildup on long climbs.
