Terranova MIPS MTB Helmet

Trail riding in India demands a helmet that can handle rocky descents on the Western Ghats, sustained 35°C+ heat on Pune's outskirts, and the occasional unpredictable crash. The Met Terranova MIPS MTB Helmet is built for exactly this kind of riding — purpose-designed for mountain terrain with MIPS rotational impact protection and ventilation engineered for real-world heat management.

Use Cases

Daily training. Ventilated construction for 35°C+ Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai training rides.

Race day. Aerodynamic profile and certified safety standards for competitive efforts.

Long endurance rides. Comfort-first padding and adjustable retention for full-day rides.

Our Take

The Terranova sits firmly in MET's trail-focused lineup, offering extended rear coverage that road helmets skip entirely. For riders tackling the rocky switchbacks above Lonavala, the forested climbs near Coorg, or the technical singletracks outside Hyderabad, that rear skull protection matters. MIPS adds a meaningful safety layer without making the helmet feel heavy or awkward. For Indian conditions — heat, humidity, and variable terrain — this is a well-considered choice.

Sizing for Indian Riders

MET uses European sizing: S fits 51–55 cm, M fits 55–59 cm, and L fits 59–63 cm. Measure head circumference at the forehead, just above the eyebrows. Indian head shapes can run slightly wider, so if you fall between sizes, size up. The adjustable retention dial allows fine-tuning for a secure, stable fit during technical descents in humid conditions.

Compatibility Notes

The Terranova MIPS is designed for mountain bike and trail use. The visor is compatible with most MTB goggles and cycling sunglasses — verify temple clearance before purchasing eyewear separately. Meets international cycling safety standards. Replace immediately after any significant impact, regardless of visible external damage.

Pairs Well With

Complete your trail setup with MTB goggles for dusty or monsoon-wet descents, a moisture-wicking MTB jersey suited to Indian heat, trail-specific MTB gloves for grip and protection, and a lightweight hydration pack for longer rides in places like Ooty or Leh.
