Tlo 42 DISC Wheelset

At Rs. 3,15,000, the Schmolke Carbon Tlo 42 DISC Wheelset sits at the very top of the performance wheel market. Built around a 42mm carbon rim profile and disc-brake-specific architecture, this wheelset is designed for riders who demand precision engineering on every surface — from Mumbai's sea-link expressway to the demanding climbs of Lonavala and Coorg.

Use Cases

Daily training. Durable rim and reliable hub bearings for repeat training use.

Race day. Aerodynamic depth and weight-optimised construction for competitive efforts.

All-rounder. Versatile depth and width for road, gravel, or all-road riding.

Our Take

Schmolke Carbon has a reputation for obsessive precision in carbon construction, and the Tlo 42 DISC reflects that fully. The 42mm rim depth hits a practical sweet spot for Indian conditions — enough aerodynamic advantage on the flat roads of Pune and Delhi, yet manageable in crosswinds on Western Ghats climbs. For riders putting in serious kilometres, this is a wheel that rewards investment with a tangible improvement in ride quality and responsiveness.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Wheelset fit depends on three factors: axle standard (QR or thru-axle dimensions), disc brake interface (Centerlock or 6-bolt), and cassette body compatibility (Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, or Campagnolo). Confirm all three against your frame spec before ordering. In India's heat above 35°C, disc brakes and carbon rims are a natural pairing — eliminating heat-related rim brake concerns entirely.

Compatibility Notes

These are disc-brake-specific wheels — not compatible with rim brake frames. Verify your frame's axle standard and rotor interface before ordering. Tubeless setup requires tubeless-compatible tyres, sealant, and valves. Check Schmolke Carbon's recommended service intervals for hub bearings, particularly after monsoon riding in Chennai, Kolkata, or Hyderabad where water and grit ingress is high.

Pairs Well With

Complete the build with a set of high-performance road or gravel tyres matched to the rim's inner width, quality tubeless sealant, and alloy tubeless valves. A calibrated torque wrench is essential for carbon component installation. Consider a premium skewers or thru-axle upgrade for the cleanest interface.
