XDR Freehub

The Magene XDR Freehub is a precision-engineered trainer accessory designed to expand drivetrain compatibility on Magene smart trainers. Built for riders who have upgraded to SRAM's XDR 12-speed road ecosystem, this freehub body slots directly into compatible Magene trainer hubs, letting you use your existing cassette without purchasing an entirely new drivetrain. A small component with a meaningful impact on your indoor training setup. Cobbled Climbs is the authorised retailer for Shimano in India.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For Indian riders who train indoors during the June-to-September monsoon or the punishing 38°C+ summer heat in cities like Pune, Hyderabad, and Delhi, keeping your smart trainer setup correctly specced matters more than many realise. The Magene XDR Freehub ensures SRAM 12-speed road cassettes seat properly on compatible Magene trainers, giving you crisp, reliable shifts throughout every structured session on Zwift or TrainerRoad — no workarounds, no compatibility compromises.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a drivetrain interface component, not a sized garment, but correct specification selection is equally important. XDR is SRAM's 12-speed road freehub standard and is distinct from SRAM XD (used for mountain cassettes) and Shimano HG or Micro Spline bodies. Verify your cassette standard before ordering. If you are unsure which freehub body your Magene trainer currently uses, contact Cobbled Climbs for guidance before purchasing.

Compatibility Notes

The Magene XDR Freehub is compatible with SRAM 12-speed road cassettes using the XDR interface standard. It is not compatible with Shimano HG, Shimano Micro Spline, SRAM XD, or Campagnolo cassettes. Verify your specific Magene trainer model supports freehub body swaps before ordering. Installation typically requires standard workshop tools; a torque wrench is recommended for correct fitment.

Pairs Well With

Complete your indoor setup with a SRAM 12-speed road cassette to mount directly onto this freehub body, a quality training mat to protect floors and dampen vibration, a sweat guard to protect your frame during intense sessions, and a high-flow fan to manage heat in Indian training spaces.
