Xq54 Postmount to Flatmount Rear Brake Caliper Adapter

Upgrading or converting your disc brake setup shouldn't mean compromising on braking performance. The Alligator Xq54 Postmount to Flatmount Rear Brake Caliper Adapter bridges the gap between older postmount frames and modern flatmount calipers, giving Indian cyclists a clean, affordable solution to run contemporary brake hardware on existing framesets.

Use Cases

Daily training. Reliable use across Indian training conditions — heat, humidity, and rough tarmac.

Race day. Performance-grade construction for competitive efforts.

Long rides. Built for full-day rides across Western Ghats, Sahyadri, or Nilgiri climbs.

Our Take

For riders in Pune, Hyderabad, or Chennai looking to future-proof a capable frame without replacing it entirely, this adapter is a practical, well-made pick. Alligator's precision machining means the caliper sits true, which matters when you're scrubbing speed on a wet Lonavala descent or managing traffic braking in Delhi. At Rs. 1,030, it is one of the most cost-effective compatibility upgrades you can make to a disc brake bike.

Sizing for Indian Riders

This is a rear-specific adapter converting postmount frame mounts to flatmount caliper mounting. It does not carry a body size — order based on your frame's rear brake mount standard (postmount) and your caliper's standard (flatmount). Confirm your rotor diameter compatibility separately. Sizing advice for clothing does not apply here.

Compatibility Notes

Designed to convert a postmount rear frame interface to accept a flatmount disc brake caliper. Verify your frame uses a standard postmount rear dropout and that your caliper is a flatmount design before ordering. Use appropriate mounting bolts torqued to the caliper manufacturer's specification. Works across road, gravel, and commuter framesets with postmount rear tabs.

Pairs Well With

Complete your brake system upgrade by pairing this adapter with a quality flatmount disc brake caliper, compatible brake levers, stainless or resin brake pads suited to your rotor material, and hydraulic or mechanical brake hose and cable kits. Browse all options at Cobbled Climbs.
