Y1RS Frameset

The Colnago Y1RS Frameset represents one of the most serious cycling investments an Indian rider can make. Built from carbon with race-proven geometry, this disc-brake road frame is designed for riders who know exactly what they want from a build — and are willing to pay for it. At Rs. 6,99,990, this is a foundation, not a purchase.

Use Cases

Race day. Aerodynamic and stiff construction for competitive efforts.

Daily training. Comfort and reliability for repeat training rides.

All-road and gravel. Versatile geometry for road, gravel, and all-road exploration in India.

Our Take

Colnago has been building race bikes since 1954, and the Y1RS carries that weight. For Indian conditions — scorching 35°C+ summers in Pune and Hyderabad, steep Ghat descents around Lonavala and Khandala, and monsoon training where disc brakes earn every rupee — this carbon frameset delivers the stiffness and compliance balance that serious riders demand. It is not a frame for casual weekend spins. It is a statement of racing intent.

Sizing for Indian Riders

Colnago geometry runs European, which typically means longer reach than Indian riders expect at equivalent seat tube lengths. If you are between sizes, consider your riding style: size down for aggressive race position, size up for longer endurance rides on routes like Ooty or Coorg. Heat can affect fit perception — a professional bike fit in your city is strongly recommended before ordering.

Compatibility Notes

The Y1RS is a disc-brake frameset. Verify your bottom bracket standard, headset specification, seatpost diameter, and flat-mount versus post-mount brake compatibility before specifying components. Tyre clearance should be confirmed against the Colnago geometry sheet — Indian road surfaces reward as much clearance as the frame allows. Contact Cobbled Climbs for build guidance.

Pairs Well With

Complete this build with a high-performance road groupset (electronic or mechanical), a carbon wheelset suited to disc brakes, a carbon cockpit for cockpit weight savings, and a quality power meter pedal or crank for training data on structured climbs.
